Hey gang!  Get ready for some fancy dribblin’ and drabblin’, hoopin’ and swishin’ and all that other stuff!  It’s 3-on-3 time in Almonte!  And for those of you who aren’t sure what that is, or think it’s six tractors having a tug-a-war, think again.  It’s a basketball festival in the streets of our little town this Saturday, August 6^th.  And it’s because we know basketball….after all, it was invented by our very own Dr. James Naismith a long time ago.  That’s right!  And that’s me with Dr. Naismith…or at least with his brand new shiny statue downtown on Mill Street.

And guess what?  It’s happening at the same time as the Puppets Up! festival.  In between puppet shows you can wander over to one of the street “courts” and catch the action.  There are competitions for little kids, medium kids, teens and grown-ups (of all sizes)…almost 100 teams!  Zowie!
