A festival for families and the young at heart
Puppets Up! is a great day or weekend out for anyone who loves the opportunity to take in original theatre, enjoy the delights offered by a beautiful and historic town like Almonte, and experience the pleasures of an outdoor festival.
Providing great entertainment for families with children of all ages, many of the festival’s shows and street entertainers are designed for the very young, while others will keep older kids and adults fully engaged.
Nearly all of our activities happen within the downtown core of Almonte, along Mill Street. All the venues are located within an easy stroll of each other, and there are plenty of shady areas to sit and places for kids to run in the grass. Refreshment and food vendors are located right on the street, and many of our downtown restaurants offer full meals, snacks and take-out options.
The Festival also offers a small market bazaar, where you can take a piece of Puppets Up! home with you, such as a puppet or other fun toy.
When and where is the parade?
1:45 to 2:15 p.m. Saturday & Sunday, down the main street of Almonte from the top at the library to the Heritage Mall at the bottom. Just follow the crowds!
Are the parade and the street entertainment free?
Yes, the parade and all street entertainment are free for all and there is no admission fee for the festival site (downtown Almonte). Tickets or passes are required for the shows. A pass (wristband) or single show ticket is required to attend any of our shows.
Where can I get tickets for the evening cabaret?
Do the passes get us into all shows?
